Juke Box Fronted Vintage Valve Radio

A beautiful radio, small but perfectly formed.  The perspex grille is gently lit when the radio is switched on.  It was made in about 1954 for the Dutch market and was just perfect for conversion to a bedside iPod dock.

It’s a great one isn’t it. I wanted to keep it but it’s in the box ready to go to its new owner. I have to get a new favourite now.

This is really nice! Did you do the work on it and how hard is it to turn it into a dock and does the radio still play? sorry for all the questions but I often see vintage radios on my travels and would;d love one for myself . Your work is amazing!

Thank you. Glad you like it. The larger valve radios can still be used as a radio as they are, but these smaller ones have to be modified to make them safe and they can be either used solely as an iPod dock or a new radio can also be added. Not so good for the purists, but we believe it’s better to get them going again and yes … we do all the work ourselves. As for how hard it is, it depends very much on what state the radio is in to start with and sorting out the electronics can sometimes be a bit of a nightmare.

I love your work, and I especially like the dock! 😀
